A collectible vintage porcelain coffee pot known as “Herne” (meaning “pea” in Finnish, referring to the dotted decoration). Produced at the Novgorod Porcelain Factory, USSR (modern-day Russia), mid-20th century.
The pot is crafted in glossy white porcelain with a striking modernist polka-dot pattern in black, gold, and red, accentuated with gilded edges on the handle, spout, and lid finial. The lid has a distinctive domed red top with a gold finial.
A fine example of Soviet mid-century porcelain design, combining functionality with playful geometric decoration reminiscent of Scandinavian style.
