An exceptional Finnish ryijy designed by textile artist Terttu Tomero, titled "Jäähinen".
Created to commemorate the 75th anniversary of Neovius Oy, this striking textile captures the feeling of ice, water and winter landscapes through an expressive composition of deep cobalt blue, turquoise, aqua, olive green and ivory wool. The long, luxurious pile creates remarkable depth and movement, making the piece appear almost sculptural depending on the angle of light.
The elongated proportions make it ideal as a statement wall hanging in Scandinavian, Mid-Century Modern, or contemporary interiors.

The title "Jäähinen" translates roughly to icy or frost-like, which is beautifully reflected in the cool palette and layered composition of blues and greens surrounded by soft ivory wool. The piece evokes frozen lakes, northern lights, glaciers and Nordic winter landscapes.
The design was specially produced in connection with the 75th anniversary celebrations of Neovius Oy, making it a particularly interesting example of Finnish corporate commissioned textile art from the late modernist period.
