A beautiful Oiva Toikka Summer Grouse (Kesäriekko) glass bird from the iconic Birds by Toikka collection.
Designed by renowned Finnish glass artist Oiva Toikka and introduced in 2006, the Summer Grouse was originally handmade at the historic Nuutajärvi glass factory in Finland and was later also produced at the Iittala glass factory. Each bird is individually mouth-blown, making every piece unique.
This elegant bird features delicate white and yellow glass with translucent elements, creating a beautiful layered effect. Its organic form and subtle colour combination are characteristic of Toikka's imaginative approach to Finnish glass art.
The bird is signed “O. Toikka Nuutajärvi” and retains its original Iittala factory sticker, making it an especially attractive piece for collectors of Finnish design and Birds by Toikka.
Oiva Toikka is one of Finland's most celebrated glass artists, best known internationally for the Birds by Toikka collection, which combines expressive forms with exceptional Finnish glassmaking craftsmanship.
