This listing includes one beautiful Iittala Kivi candle holder in the Sand (Hiekka) color, made of colored glass and designed for a tealight candle.
It is a perfect collectible piece and adds warmth and elegance to any space. Designed by the renowned Finnish designer Heikki Orvola for Iittala, the Kivi candle holder is one of the most beloved classics of Scandinavian design.
Heikki Orvola started his career as a designer in the 1960s at the Nuutajärvi glass factory in Finland. During his long career, he has created numerous iconic Finnish design pieces.
Orvola designed fabrics for Marimekko in the late 1980s, and his works can also be found in museums around the world. Among many other designs, he created the Aurora glassware collection for Iittala and, together with Fujiwo Ishimoto, designed the Illusia tableware collection for Arabia.
Heikki Orvola was awarded the Pro Finlandia Medal in 1984 and the Kaj Franck Design Prize in 1998. He received the honorary title of Professor in 2002.
