A beautiful vintage Finnish täkänä wall hanging, woven in a striking brown and bright lime/yellow-green color combination.
This textile is reversible, offering two different visual expressions from the same woven design. One side features a predominantly bright lime/yellow-green ground with dark brown botanical and geometric motifs, while the reverse reverses the color balance, creating a rich dark-brown ground with contrasting lime-green motifs.
The design is highly decorative and symmetrical, featuring stylized floral and botanical forms surrounded by elaborate scrolling borders and geometric details. The traditional double-weave construction gives the textile a substantial woven character and allows the pattern to appear in contrasting colors on the opposite side.
