Authentic signed Oiva Toikka Haahkatar glass bird, produced by Nuutajärvi, Finland, as part of the iconic Birds by Toikka collection.
Haahkatar, meaning female eider, is one of Oiva Toikka's distinctive Finnish art-glass birds, produced from 1986–1994. This beautiful example features a rich combination of brown, copper, green, and dark tones, with an especially striking iridescent/lustred surface that changes beautifully in different lighting.
The bird is 21 cm long and is signed by Oiva Toikka on the underside. It also retains its Nuutajärvi 1793 / Made in Finland manufacturer's label.
The combination of the sculptural form, richly layered colors, lustred glass and original markings makes this a wonderful collectible for anyone interested in Finnish design, Nordic interiors, Nuutajärvi glass or Oiva Toikka's Birds collection.
