Beautiful vintage Iittala Ultima Thule dessert bowl, designed by renowned Finnish designer Tapio Wirkkala.
The iconic Ultima Thule collection was designed by Wirkkala in 1968 and was inspired by the melting ice and snowy landscapes of Finnish Lapland. The distinctive textured surface gives the glass an almost frozen, organic appearance and creates beautiful reflections when light passes through it.
This small bowl is particularly beautiful when viewed from different angles: the outside features the characteristic vertical, ice-like texture, while the underside has the distinctive bubble-like textured base seen in your photographs.
Perfect as a dessert bowl, serving bowl, candy dish or small decorative bowl. It is also a wonderful addition to a collection of authentic Finnish mid-century glass design.
