Arabia’s iconic Ruska series was designed by Finnish designer Ulla Procopé in the 1960s. The series is known for its durable stoneware and distinctive reactive glaze, which creates natural variations in color and surface, making each piece slightly different.

The blue and pale pink tones visible on the undersides of some plates are a natural glaze effect associated with the Ruska firing process. Variations in temperature, oxygen levels, and the reaction of iron compounds in the glaze could produce violet, pinkish, or metallic-looking tones. These individual color variations are characteristic of the reactive glazing process and are not considered damage.

This set is ideal for serving coffee, creating a cozy vintage Nordic table setting, or adding to a collection of classic Finnish Arabia ceramics.
